Sniper Pest Control Termite Inspections in Fort Worth, TX — Protect Your Home From Hidden Damage

Termites can cause devastating structural damage long before homeowners ever see the signs. At Sniper Termite & Pest Control, we specialize in professional termite inspections Fort Worth homeowners rely on for accurate detection, honest recommendations, and fast action.

Recently, we visited a local Fort Worth home after the owners noticed unusual dirt formations along their foundation. What we found is a perfect example of why early termite inspections are critical.

Real Case: What We Found at a Fort Worth Home

While walking the property, we spotted what looked like a dirt tube running up the foundation — one of the most common early signs of subterranean termite activity. If you’re walking around your own home (inside or outside), this is exactly the kind of thing you want to keep an eye out for.

If you see something on your foundation resembling a dirt tube or a mud tunnel, it is likely termites. The only way to confirm is through proper investigation. In this particular case, we had inspected the area a few days prior and intentionally disturbed the tube. Within a couple of hours, the termites had completely rebuilt it.

In the video above, you can see both:

  • The tube we destroyed

  • The fresh, newly built tube the termites repaired

This rapid rebuilding tells us something important:
The termites were highly motivated to get into this home. If they weren’t, they would have abandoned the area after the initial damage.

When we broke open the tube during inspection, a white, larva-looking insect crawled out — that was the termite. It quickly retreated back into the home through a tiny structural crack barely big enough to fit the end of a knife (about 1/16 of an inch). Yet somehow, the colony found that tiny gap and used it to access wood in the structure.

This is exactly why professional termite inspections in Fort Worth are so important. Termites come up from the soil, find the smallest opening, and build tunnels to reach the wood inside your home.

Ignoring the signs can lead to expensive structural damage.

In this case, we performed a spot treatment, trenching and treating a 10-foot section along the side of the home. The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing the problem has been addressed before it spread further.

If you see something on your foundation resembling a dirt tube or dirt formation similar to the one in the video above, it is likely termites. What’s the best way to tell? Investigation. In this particular case, we investigated a few days back and disturbed the tube and the client said that within a couple of hours the termites had rebuilt the tubes that we had just destroyed. In the video above you can see the tube we destroyed and the fresher, new tube that the termites repaired.

The termites were excited to get into this particular house, or else they would have gone elsewhere after their initial tube was destroyed. If you find termite tubes in your home, you can break the tube. In the video above, you can see a white larva looking insect… that’s a termite. It crawls back into the house through a small crack in the structure that was barely big enough to fit the end of my knife (approximately 1/16th of an inch). They somehow found that tiny crack and used it to enter the house. If you suspect a termite infestation on your property, don’t ignore it. They are subterranean and make their way up from the soil to access food which is the wood in your structure or yard. In this case, we opted to do a spot treatment and trenched all along the side of the house – a 10-foot area. We treated that and took care of the problem.

Why You Need a Termite Inspection in Fort Worth

Fort Worth’s warm climate and soil conditions make it a high-pressure termite zone. Subterranean termites thrive here and often go undetected until damage becomes severe.

A Fort Worth termite inspection helps you:

  • Detect colonies early

  • Identify mud tubes, moisture issues, and structural risk points

  • Prevent thousands of dollars in damage

  • Keep your home safe and structurally sound

Because termites work silently, homeowners may not notice activity until it’s too late. Our inspections make sure nothing is missed.

What We Look for During a Termite Inspection

When you schedule a termite inspection with Sniper Termite & Pest Control, we perform a complete property assessment, including:

1. Foundation and exterior inspection

We search for mud tubes, damaged wood, soil contact areas, and small entry points (even tiny cracks less than 1/16 of an inch).

2. Interior assessment

We check baseboards, attic beams, door frames, garages, and other areas where termites may enter or feed.

3. Moisture and risk analysis

Since moisture attracts termites, we look for drainage issues, leaks, and wood-to-soil contact.

4. Confirmation of activity

If we disturb a tube and termites rebuild quickly or emerge from the tunnel, we know the colony is active and persistent.

5. Clear reporting & treatment recommendations

You’ll receive an honest, no-pressure explanation of what we found and what needs to happen next.

Spot Treatments and Full Treatments Available

Not every home requires a whole-house termite treatment. In many cases — like the Fort Worth property we recently inspected — a 10-foot trench and spot treatment effectively eliminates the active colony.

We will only recommend what is necessary based on your home’s situation.
