National Cowgirl Hall of Fame & Museum

When you travel to Dallas, Texas, just 32 miles west, you'll see the proud city of Fort Worth. Fort Worth is a city filled with famous tourist attractions you would definitely have to visit. Though Fort Worth is known as a city with a deep history of cattle ranching, it still boasts a rich and diverse culture in nature.

One of the best-known tourist attractions in the city of Fort Worth is the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.

What is this attraction all about?

This Fort Worth museum is a one-of-a-kind museum globally. The entirety of the place is dedicated solely to give honor to the pioneering women of the West and all of those around the world who manifested valor in their undertakings. This is one way Fort Worth appreciates its history since these women excelled through their characters.

What can you find inside this tourist attraction?

This attraction allows visitors to interact with its exhibit galleries that showcase artifacts that are part of the museum's permanent collection. It also includes an exhibit that can travel the city or the state, two theaters, a souvenir shop. As a structure dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, the museum also has a research library, an archive, and renovated now with a second floor. The archive of the museum has over 4000 artifacts in total and approximately more than 750 excellent women.

Who are the people you'll be meeting when you go inside the museum?

When you step into the museum, you will be greeted with the great history of the 238 excellent women of the West. These women come from different walks of life, from artists, humanitarians, writers, entrepreneurs, ranchers, educators, and rodeo girls. Remember the well-known guide of the explorers' Lewis and Clark? You'll find her in the museum, Sacagawea. The artist that painted the Black Iris could also be found in the museum, Georgia O'Keeffe. Have you ever wanted to meet the woman who created the multi-million dollar company that created the Nocona Boot in the person of Enid Justin. Do you meet the woman behind the Little House on Prairie? Laura Ingalls Wilder could also be found in the museum.

The National Cowgirl Museum and the Hall of Fame inside it house a part of history that we should all be proud of, for it gave women the tribute they truly deserved for all of the things they have contributed to society.
